Now, let's have forty more lines of dialogue that is positively aimless in order to annoy Phil." I'm going to tell you the last thing I did before I was transported to this world, and it's going to be similar to the fifty-six other characters' tales. ![]() "Oh! You're in this parallel world, too? How did you get here?" I know this is anime and all, but seemingly every conversation led nowhere or was the same thing only with different characters. That was only after subjecting myself to some of the most inane discussions I've had to witness in quite a while. I couldn't tell you much else about the story other than I was more than glad to just mash the X button to fast forward through the insanely cheesy dialogue. The goal is to find their way out of this world, forging new alliances and participating in battle after battle until the whole thing gets horribly repetitive and wears out its welcome. The story of Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3 takes all of the familiar and even unfamiliar pilots and characters across numerous Gundam series and puts them into a parallel world. ![]() Sadly, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3 is a turkey of a Dynasty Warriors game. I constantly wished for the massively boring and worthless story to be told to be over, thinking the game could go screw itself after fake ending after fake ending. Instead of a game that could easily be played for 50+ hours without complaints, I received a game that just would never end. Perhaps I should have lowered my expectations when entering another game with the Dynasty Warriors moniker, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3. Its gameplay and content were both quite excellent. Last year I had the great experience of playing Hyrule Warriors, a Dynasty Warriors style game that featured The Legend of Zelda. ![]() ![]() The recent blog post about transferring routes to a Zumo XT makes no mention that the method outlined cannot be used with the Mac OS. When you create blog posts please specify which system OS the post relates to. I do have one request for the wonderful MRA people. I'm sure others have figured this transfer method out but I can't see it documented here hence this post. I can and have uploaded previously created routes to the Zumo whilst sitting (stopped I might ad) on the bike. Really not any more difficult than connecting the GPS via a USB cable. The Garmin Drive app on the phone or iPad picks up the export and transfers it to the Zumo XT. ![]() Create the route on the Mac (I prefer to do this on a big screen where I can see more detail particularly with complex routes) then simply open the MRA App on either my iPhone or iPad, open the route previously created and export it as GPX 1.1. Finally it dawned on me that MRA is a web based product. After some searching I found Android file transfer but that requires Mac OS 10.5.x and my Mac is still running Catalina (10.15.x) so that proved a dead end. Job done time to go for a ride.Īs many others have found I was disappointed and frustrated to find that my new Zumo XT does not play nice with the Mac OS. Create a route on the Mac, connect the TomTom via USB, transfer the route to the GPS. I have been using MRA seamlessly with a TomTom ever since MRA was released. Why doesn’t the PC? Next up, I decided to set a bunch of presets. Looking at the Mac GUI in the manual, it looks like they have tic marks and time indicators. So if you want to go back 10 minutes, you have to guess at how far that is on the slider bar. Second, on the GUI front, the time shifting slider doesn’t tell you how far back you’ve gone when moving the slider. It’s interesting to note that when you exit the preferences screen, the audio buffer resets. It’s probably just my personal preference, but I like the Tivo model of Time Shifting better. It’s a bit disconcerting to rewind through All Things Considered and suddenly hear Nickel Back. With the radioSHARK, the buffer keeps going, even through station switches. First, on the Tivo, if you switch channels, the buffer resets itself. I assume it has to do with the buffering and playback, but on a P4-2.8 HT box with SATA drives, this sound glitch is just absurd. It was also annoying because when TimeShifting was on, the audio stutter became more pronounced. A quick trip to the preferences (after figuring out how to get to it), I enabled TimeShifting and hit pause again. It turns out that the PC (and maybe Mac) version has TimeShifting disabled by default. I pressed the button again and still nothing. I pressed the pause button and waited for the audio to stop. That brought up a sub-window to the GUI that had a pause button, fast forward and rewind arrows, and two additional buttons that I later decided were ‘skip to beginning’ and ‘skip to end’ (which weren’t documented). On the radioSHARK GUI, there was a button labeled TS, which I correctly assumed meant TimeShift and pressed. It’s a brilliant concept that I picture being integrated into the majority of consumer electronics in the future. For those not familiar with the concept, ReplayTV and Tivo pioneered the idea of allowing their users pause, rewind, and when applicable, fast-forward by displaying saved video instead of the live feed. Of course, the first thing I had to do was TimeShift. The radioSHARK worked, just not that well. I noticed that my entire system reset when I tried to look at the size of audio buffer. I noticed the three crashes that the app had in the first four hours. Audio seemed to be poppy, interrupted with just barely perceptible stutters in audio that would come and go. ![]() Then I started to notice the radioSHARKs flaws. I laughed as All Things Considered talked about the presidential election. I giggled like a schoolgirl when I discovered the ability to time-shift live audio almost like my Tivo. I was enthralled by the scheduler, setting up shows to record. ![]() I said I wanted to love the radioSHARK, and at first I did. I was impressed how easy it was because Griffin Technology is primarily a Mac company and I was testing on a Windows XP box. Let’s just say I plug it into my PC, dropped in the CD, and 5 minutes later, I was listening to the local NPR station through my computer speakers in all its poppy glory. A quick trip to the Apple store and I had this little fin-shaped wonder. ![]() So when I heard about the radioSHARK I was excited. I’m a big fan of radio and I’ve been disappointed that it took so long for a company to develop and AM/FM turner for the PC. I wanted to love the radioSHARK from Griffin Technology, I really did. ![]() My mind's eye immediately serves up images of Ajit pai drinking out of his freakishly oversized Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Coffee Mug as he gleefully announces the end of the Internet consumer protection a.k.a net neutrality Title II Utility regulations, December 14, 2017. This once feared and vigilant patient advocating watchdog is now no more than an industry lap dog. When I see the well dressed, cleancut, all American Scott Whitaker, CEO Advanced Medical Technology Association sing the praises of the FDA's newly crowned Commissioner, Scott Gottlieb and refer to the FDA's regulatory function as "robust, thorough, and very effective." I actually see an extremely overpaid and overfunded lobbyist claiming victory over his natural foe: The FDA Regulator. The Bleeding Edge is the story of the chickens coming home to roost. I've watched and may have even participated in this devolution of regulation and contracting out not only Federal jobs but actual Federal responsibilities. For 35 years I've had a ringside seat to the privatization of government. They've cut costs, regulations, and in some cases even federal jobs. The government has gone and done what we told those no good, pencil pushing, paper shuffling bureaucrats to do. The Bleeding Edge is a strong documentary, which probably required another equally strong case study like Essure however, the voices of victims are clearly heard, and it is transparent that the process needs to change, for the benefit and health of the patients, not the bank accounts.Sit back and prepare to be angry. The Bleeding Edge gives a weighty argument that this industry needs to do better by those leading it, rather than bringing in people who only care about their bottom line. In the end, The Bleeding Edge gives you the truth of the industry lobbyists, ex-FDA workers working on medical company boards, doctors favouring those who give them most money – in essence, an entire pyramid system that caters to money-making, rather than truly giving patients medical devices that will positively change their wellbeing. The Bleeding Edge cries out for this to be a crisis, and you are left with little answers as to how this will be properly brought into law in the future. It is difficult to comprehend how the system has become so broken. ![]() ![]() Stephen Tower, a medical professional who has suffered at the hands of an untested medical device personally, sending him into a state of psychological confusion due to a metal-on-metal hip replacement. The Bleeding Edge manages to grab the services of Dr. Former FDA commissioners enhance the documentary’s evidence, describing to the viewers the PMA (Pre-Market Approval) framework which has caused many medical devices to be made readily available to medical professionals. Usefully, the second half of the feature does give a scientific basis to a damning assessment to the medical device industry in the USA. However, without professionals backing these claims, the documentary would have achieved little. The Bleeding Edge presents an industry of untested medical devices, causing bodily harm and deaths, and it does so with some strong case studies. Others also come forward in this documentary – Tammy Jackson was recommended a vaginal mesh device to hold her organs in place which caused undesirable effects, with doctors having zero training in how to remove it this unforgivable oversight ruined her sex life and spurred on countless operations on her body. This resulted in running fevers, continuous bleeding and severe, constant headaches for years. Angie Firmalino wanted birth control and in the trusted hands of her medical professionals, they recommended the infamous Essure, which is coil-shaped and blocks the fallopian tube, so by definition birth control is achieved. The Netflix documentary provides haunting accounts of people, mostly women, who have been let down by medical standards in this case, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Interestingly, The Bleeding Edge demonstrates with various case studies that newer is not necessarily better. Our practices are industry-standard, but I would argue that our medical technology is considerably behind some countries. However, over the years, the lack of investment and strict budgets have forced the hands of commissioners to innovate less. It is strange because in the United Kingdom we have the NHS (National Health Service), that is free to use, giving us healthcare whenever needed. The Bleeding Edge opens up with a message about innovation, the future of medical care and putting patients first. ![]() Click that and a calculator form will pop up to show you the exact form I need to create.
